Wish you were gay review
I really like the tune of Wish You Were Gay by Billie Eilish and wish you were gay review has been stuck in my head lately, but as far as the lyrics go, I have a lot of thoughts. Since it involves romance and such, I figured this would be a good place to write an honest review.
Before I begin, please note that regardless of what I think of this particular song, I still think Billie is very talented and I'm not trying to hate on her. Another thing I'd like to mention is that in case you haven't already noticed, it is NOT an LGBT anthem there are still some people who think this for some reason.
The first verse seems pretty normal. She just seems disheartened that her friend who she has a crush on doesn't seem to be reciprocating. It's not uncommon for people to feel lonely when their crush doesn't feel the same way. So yeah, nothing weird here. It seems as though she thinks that the only way for them to be able to console each other is if there's romance involved.
Or if she at least believes that he feels the same way. Because apparently, a profound friendship isn't enough. Good friendships aren't intimate enough for emotional support. No, there absolutely has to be romance or else they'll never be able to have a close emotional bond.
Yeah, I call BS on this. I find it to be really annoying that she and most people in general seem to have this mindset. I've heard that he really is gay in real life, but gay or not, the dude who the song is about doesn't sound like a very good friend. How could Billie possibly envision a romantic relationship if he just "[looks] the other way" and can't even acknowledge her when they're together?
In the 2nd verse, there are three instances that tie into problem 2the first one being, "Is there a reason we're not through? Big red flag. Once or twice is fine if he's preoccupied with other stuff, but anything more than that is a sign of a bad friend. This implies that he pretty much never texts back.
It doesn't matter if he's into her or not, and maybe he could be busy sometimes, but a good friend doesn't just ignore every single freaking text for such a long period of time. Now for the 3rd verse Like, as shitty of a friend as he sounds, he still doesn't owe her an explanation.
Nobody is in any way obligated to reciprocate your feelings or be interested in you. The only explanation he or anyone else needs is, "I'm just not interested.
An honest review of "Wish You Were Gay" by Billie Eilish.
I don't know, I could be overanalyzing or overthinking wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much. But that's kind of my thing. I would probably think that something is horribly worng if I go a day without overthinking. I'm not lying, I was thinking the exact same thing, except it was, "Peter I don't feel so good", referencing you-know-what.
He just came out to me like a couple weeks ago. So I wrote the song and made him fuck a dude.
